Genasis

Team G-Unit · Long Beach via Atlanta

Genesis refers to creation, formation and the ushering in of something brand new.

While the spelling might be different, that definition fits Genasis like a snap back. One of the latest signings to 50 Cent's red hot, G-Unit Records, Genasis is a rising star whose YouTube postings and mix tapes have made folks sit up and pay attention.

The first single off Genasis' untitled forthcoming debut CD is the underground hit "Jackie Chan", featuring Dorrough Music. Produced by Jaray, "Jackie Chan" lets folks know that Genasis ain't taking nothing from nobody. "Got stacks, rubber band/ I'm fly, Peter Pan/ I stunt, Jackie Chan," Genasis boasts on the chorus.

With video play on MTV Jams, "Jackie Chan" is built around a mixed martial's arts theme and like the song, is a sexy jolt of energy. Genasis' swagger doesn't let up on the "me and my crew" anthem, "99 Bottles" or "Master P", a bounce heavy tribute/continuation of the classic No Limit sound. While Genasis says that his vices are "fast cars, bad women, and big money" the upbeat "Real Conversation" (ft Mannie Fresh), shows he's got love for the hard working ladies who "handle their business."

The child of Belizean immigrants, Genasis (ne Odis Flores) was born in Atlanta, Georgia and raised in Long Beach, California. His influences are also bi-coastal and include T.I, Ludacris, 2Pac, Nelly, and of course 50. After generating a buzz in the streets, Genasis was signed to G-Unit in July 2011. "Showcasing my creativity is what's important," declares Genasis. "That's what I want to get out of the music industry. I want to open my own lane, and have people accept me for me. I'm not in this to just have a hit record. I'm in this for longevity."
