Berner joins Taylor Gang · D-Ray recovers · The Jacka launches The Artist Records

S.F. Rapper Berner Inks Deal With Wiz Khalifa's Taylor Gang Records

After national success of his recent single/video "Yoko", which featured industry heavyweights Wiz Khalifa, Big K.R.I.T., and Chris Brown, Berner has been hard at work in the industry. He was recently featured in Gucci Mane and V Nasty of the White Girl Mob's "BAYTL" album, on the song "Food Plug", which was released on Warner Bros. Records. He has had numerous notable appearances with local rap legend The Jacka, as well as numerous videos online representing weed culture for the Bay Area. I am glad to see such a great combination, since the beginning of seeing Wiz Khalifa in the Bay Area networking with Berner, and their combined passion for marijuana, I look forward seeing more of Berner under the Wiz Khalifa imprint.

Celebrity Photographer D-Ray Recovers From Successful Surgery

D-Ray, who is known for being the editor in chief of Ozone West, as well as Bay Area's hip hop celebrity photographer, recently underwent a dangerous, yet successful surgery. She recently has been in recovery and has made her first public appearance for a recent J Diggs - Mac Dre birthday party in San Jose.

She is among a few people who have been to hundreds, if not thousands of events, documenting artists, some of which are no longer with us. Without her determination in being great, and having an amazing eye for photography, many Bay Area artists would have been as recognized as they are today. Ozone West remains one of the few major publications who consistently put a spotlight on the West Coast, without the hard work of D Ray, our beloved artists would have fewer chances being seen or heard.

The Jacka To Release Artist Records Project, Featuring Freeway, Husalah

On July 24, Mob Figaz co-founder The Jacka and his The Artist Records will release a compilation called The A.R. Street Album. The Richmond, California native who has released projects with Berner, Andre Nickatina and Ampichino, is using the project to launch his imprint, which includes rappers Joe Blow, Dubb 20 and Street Knowledge. The retail effort will be hosted by DJ Slowpoke.

Jacka will also include feature verses from the likes of Freeway, Husalah and Cellski. The release comes courtesy of SMC Entertainment, who recently released the Terror Tapes project from Psycho Realm.
