Emerging out of Hayward, CA, Sweetface is one of those artists who writes relatable, catchy music. His January release of “Really Hope You Make It,” produced by AntBeatz, easily proves that. The corresponding video to this single, directed by @createbayarea, is full of crazy edits as Sweetface raps in various locations at night. Although the reason behind the song is personal for Sweetface, the message is still relevant to people who have had their own separations in relationships, business partnerships, or friendships. Sweetface sounds genuine in hoping they make it on their own path as he says his goodbyes and focuses on his future. The only problem I had with this single was the mix on the hook. The ad libs with the beat and the main vocals seem muddled together at points. Aside from that, Sweetface easily flows from the hook to the verses and creates a track that is relatable and thought provoking. Be sure to check it out along with his other music.
