Demrick and Casey Veggies ride through Casey’s hometown of Inglewood, CA for a easygoing day of fun and relaxation in the colorful new video for “Different Day,” premiered by Earmilk. The video is the final installment of a trilogy, following June’s visuals for “Freak Show” and “Down to Roll.” “Different Day” picks up directly after the romantic “Down To Roll” video, with Demrick leaving his neon-lit boudoir to hit the park and spend a relaxing afternoon smoking and shooting hoops with Casey and their boys. The epitome of laid back Cali cool with blissed-out production from STANDOUTMUSIK, “Different Day” is a highlight from Demrick’s
Demrick explains the origin of “Different Day”: “The concept of the Trilogy was simply to take the viewers on a full 24 hours through my life. While the events of the trilogy were definitely stretched and exaggerated a bit to make it more interesting, I took them through different parts of LA. I wanted to tie all of my leading records off the project together in a cool way, so I thought a storyline connecting all the videos would be a cool way to do it. The video ends with me making a collect call, to tie everything back to the album. I thought it would be cool and straight forward to leave them with the last video, picking up where my album starts.”
Born in Spokane to a single mother on welfare, the biracial Demrick found peace in hip-hop. After linking with West Coast legend Kurupt as “Young De,” Demrick found his way into the studio with B-Real of Cypress Hill, earning several features on B-Real’s Smoke ‘N Mirrors. In 2013, Demrick teamed up with B-Real and Xzibit to form the Serial Killers, releasing two projects and gracing the stages of Rock The Bells and Lollapalooza. In 2015, Demrick released his first solo album, Losing Focus, on Madchild’s Battle Axe Records, boasting contributions from Logic, Dizzy Wright, and others. After years of learning the rap game from the likes of Xzibit and B Real, Demrick steps into the spotlight with Collect Call. Featuring soulful, bouncy production from the likes of Scoop Deville, Lavi$h, DJ Hoppa and more, Collect Call is available now on iTunes and Spotify.
