Bay Area ambassador and celebrated Gameologist E-40 releases a new sizzling, hot off the press record featuring Oakland’s finest Kamaiyah. E-40 continues to drop hits year after year and delivers “Petty,” another banger, which finds 40 and Kamaiyah excoriating haters and other frivolous figures over minor keyboards and a minimalist bass drum. Produced by J Hawk, known for New Boyz‘ hit record “You’re A Jerk,” “Petty” sets off momentum for the release of 40’s upcoming duo album pack The D-Boy Diary: Book 1 & 2 dropping November 2016.
“When I work with talent from my community, it feels organic,” says 40 about working with Kamaiyah. “Kamaiyah is a talented artist and she’s bubbling right now in the streets.”
Well into his third decade as a rap hitmaker, E-40 added another career milestone in May when the RIAA certified his 2015 single “Choices” as a Gold Record. “Choices,” a national smash hit with a remixadopted by the Golden State Warriors as the anthem for their 2015 NBA title run, is another in a long list of Gold and Platinum-certified records by the rapper. Recently, Fat Joe and Remy Ma tapped 40 for the Westside remix for their hit single “All The Way Up.” In June, E-40 starred in a national Beats By Dre advertisement alongside Warriors forward Draymond Green, which featured his 2006 hit “Tell Me When to Go.”
In addition to his career in show business, E-40 has branched out to become a respected entrepreneur in the adult beverage industry. Named after his government name, Earl Stevens Selections distributes high-quality wine to stores across the country, including BevMo, Safeway, and your local liquor stores. He has made inroads into the pre-mixed cocktail business with Sluricane, which was BevMo’s best-selling item upon launch. In 2015, E-40 released an eponymous brand of 40-oz. malt liquor. With over 30 years of making hits and blazing trails, no one can compete with his relevancy and legacy. Recently featured on TV One’s hit series UNSUNG, E-40 will continue his unprecedented longevity and success as an independent artist with his next double album, The D-Boy Diary: Book 1 & 2, scheduled for November 2016.
