ABM: What is your Hip Hop name? Tell us the story behind your hip-hop name?
KevoBandz: My nick name is Kev so as I got older… I wanted something different so I went with Kevo Bandz. I put the Z on the end cause I like being different.
ABM: What happened in your life that led to the decision of you becoming a musician?
KevoBandz: I been rapping since I was in middle school but I was also really into sports but me and my brother Robert were doing little shows back in the day and freshman year me and my brothers went to tryouts for the basketball team and the coach robbed my brothers they didn’t make the team my hoop dreams went out the window and I said I was going to rap.
ABM: Where are you from, and what was it like growing up there?
KevoBandz: I’m from Wichita Kansas it’s not like how people think it is we like any other city it was manageable growing up here my moms worked hard always tried to keep us comfortable.
ABM: How long ago did you start rapping, and what are some of the changes you have went through as a artist coming up?
KevoBandz: I been rapping since I was in middle school me and my brother Robert he use to be cold as fuck and I was ass but I progressed as I got older the only changed I went through is the new wave of music it’s a different vibe from what it was when I was in middle school
ABM: I see your working with Shootergang Kony and Lil Trev, how did that come about?
KevoBandz: Man that shit still unreal to me you know. I listen to they music everyday and now I have music with them. Working with them was crazy, but I tapped in with them on instagram and they regular niggas like everybody else. If you hit them talking money, they’ll talk back and they looking out real solid dudes. Plus, they be gassing shit and we all young nigga’s too. Shout out to both of them, lock in with them, they sick! Kony really one of my favorite artist so I’m really hype off that one!
ABM: What are your last full length releases people can go check out right now?
KevoBandz: Dawgy out the kennel, I released it on February 4th, it’s out on all platforms.
ABM: What are you currently working on?
KevoBandz: Right now I’m working on my second mixtape, it’s called L.O.O.P., that stands for Love Only On Pesos. S/O to my brother!
ABM: What’s your last visual release people can check out, tell us about it.
KevoBandz: My latest visual out right now is to my single “Stop Playing”, it’s a lot more coming to a theatre near you.
ABM: Any business ventures you wanna tell the public about?
KevoBandz: I’m tryna get some merchandise for my own brand right now. I’m working on it, but S/O to my big brother Chaz Mack y’all go check out my mans clothing line Twisted Teef Thieves.
ABM: What is your ultimate goal at the end of your career?
KevoBandz: I just wanna be in a position to provide for my family and take care of them. That’s what it’s all about, and to put my city on the map. We have a lot of talent from the town, we just need the exposure.
